Girls surftip to Lisbon
After our big succes of our Morocco retreats we wanted to explore more beautifull hidden gems of the Atlantic surfcoast for our little community. Since we want to offer local experiences we only host trips in places we live or lived before. Roos lived in both the Silver Coast and Lisbon era of Portugal and thats why we want to treat you with a little limited Lisbon Surfrip edition.
This limited edition will be in the coast of Lisbon, Costa Da Caparica, just 20 minutes away from Portugals beautifull capital. The house will be filled with only girls from our trip and we will have the waves in front of our doorstep. Caparica is a calm but vibrant town, just a little out of the city but lots of activities to do. Think of drinks, surfskating, having lunch at the boulevart of just watching the sunset with the best stoneoven pizza.
Our retreats are all about creating that feeling of being away from home while still feeling completely at ease. Its gonna be a week filled with yapping, good waves, Portugese sun and a little citytrip to Lisbon. Together with local friends and partners, we’ve brought this retreat to life in a way that also gives back to the community that makes it all possible.
On The Wayve x Barefoot Under The Sun
Surf
Our surftrip will be filled with surf. Surfing is the second love of Roos & Marie. The way surfing connects you with the pure elements of nature works like therapy. At On The Wayve, we offer tailored surf lessons. For first-timers, we have beginner lessons, and for intermediate and advanced surfers, we work with one of the best surf coaches in the area.
For all levels
The House
One of the key elements of On The Wayve is comfort, that feeling of arriving and instantly feeling at home. That’s exactly why we chose Surfbase in Costa da Caparica.
Roos previously worked in one of their houses, so we knew right away this was the perfect fit. Our private house offers plenty of space to unwind, with a modern, comfortable interior and a spacious garden to enjoy the sun or play some pingpong.
And the best part? Step outside and you’re right on the beach. Morning surfs, relaxed afternoons, and sunset moments by the ocean, everything you need for the perfect surf trip.
Portugese culture
Because Roos used to live in Costa da Caparica, she wants to show you the real side of this place, not just the surf, but everything that comes with it. It’s about the laid-back rhythm of a small surf town on the Portuguese coast.
Days here are easy. Beach time, a second surfsession surf when we got energy left, skating or running along the boulevard, coffee at our favorite spots, and sunset dinners by the ocean.
We’ll also head into Lisbon for a day. Not to rush through the highlights, but to wander a bit, thrift shops, good coffee, dinner somewhere nice, and finding those low-key spots you’d probably miss otherwise.

Surf equipments
Surfboards (hardtops and softtops) and wetsuits are available all week
Sunset cliff walk
Portugal has an incredible coastline, and one evening we’ll head out for a short cliff walk to catch one of the best views around, looking out over Caparica, Lisbon, and the ocean.
Movienight
And when we’re all surfed out and just want a chill night, we’ll curl up on the couch with a good romcom and some tasty snacks, pure perfection.

Lisbon day trip
Day trip to Lisbon, think thrift shopping at Roos’ favorite spots, wandering through the beautiful city, and going out for dinner together.

And many more
The week will also be packed with optional activities like yoga, day trips to Sintra, and surfskate lessons. These are all optional and may come with some additional costs.

5–6 surf days, including 3 surf lessons.
Surfskating
Surfskating is a big part of life in Caparica, just grab your board and cruise along the boulevard. We’ll be there to help you out too :)
Creative workshop
In between surfing, tanning, chatting, eating, and drinking coffee, we’ll also do something fun and creative to bring our ideas to life.
